piggyBac-derived vector, pPIGA3GFP, was useful for the screening of G1 individuals at the larval stage but necessitated the rearing of numerous silkworms. This time-consuming work is the main limitation of this promoter–marker combination. With the Bm-Actin3GFP marker, expression can be viewed in mosaic G0 larvae
The marker, pPIGA3GFP, contains the B. moriA3 cytoplasmic actin gene promoter fused to the GFP coding sequence and SV40 3′ untranslated sequences.
