Porcine hyperimmune serum against M. hyopneumoniae J strain
Preparation of porcine hyperimmune serum against M. hyopneumoniae J strain is as described in Scarman et al. (1997) Microbiology 143:663-673. In brief, M. hyopneumoniae-free swines were challenged with a preparation of M. hyopneumoniae strain J emulsified in Freund's complete adjuvant, and these swines were subjected to a second exposure one month later with the same preparation in Freund's incomplete adjuvant. Serum responses were monitored until an anti-M. hyopneumoniae response was confirmed by an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA).
